Course Flow
Course Itinerary
Day 1
Theory review, stress recognition, and first in-water self-rescue skills (cramps, tired-diver response, equipment issues).
Day 2
Assisting-another-diver scenarios, panicked diver on the surface, non-responsive diver at depth, and structured missing-diver procedure with the group.
Final stage
Multiple scenarios combined into one flow (recognise, respond, rescue, provide care, hand over). Instructor feedback on prioritisation, tempo and communication.

Is the course stressful?

Yes. Rescue Diver is one of the most useful stages before any professional route.
Do I need to be a very strong swimmer for Rescue Diver?
You need to be comfortable in the water and able to handle moderate exertion, but the course is built around technique, positioning and breathing, not raw swimming speed.
What happens if I freeze during a scenario?
That is a normal part of learning. The instructor pauses the scenario, talks through what happened, and restarts when you are ready. The goal is real skill, not a pass-fail drama.
Does Rescue Diver include first aid and CPR training?
PADI requires a current Emergency First Response (EFR) or equivalent certification within 24 months. If you do not already hold one, Diving Star can add a short EFR module alongside your Rescue course.
